The Village Hall, Fen
Road, Metheringham, Lincoln
Metheringham Playgroup aims to provide a happy, secure learning environment for children, from two and a half up to school age, where they can gain in confidence and knowledge and socialise with other children from the local community. The Playgroup is a registered charity and a member of the Pre School Learning Alliance.
The playgroup sessions are weekday mornings from 9:00 - - 11;30 am during term time. Dependant on the time of year, we may also hold afternoon sessions from 12:30 - 3:00pm. Cost is £3.50 per session and we accept Nursery Funding as payment for 4 year olds who are eligible. Our roll is currently around 73.
There are 2 rooms within the village hall that are used as playrooms. The older children usually start in the 'rabbit room' and the younger ones start in the 'teddy bear room'. We have different activities going on in the two areas and usually swap over half way through a session.
We welcome visitors to the group and quite recently have had visits from the policeman, the Methodist minister (with his pet dog), a parish councillor, the Health visitor, Metheringham Primary School head teacher and the vicar's wife. We regularly go out for walks around the village and visits include the fire station the new born lambs, the library etc., within our project work.
A small booklet outlining our group, organisation, admission policy and curriculum is available from Carole on 01526 323267
